The PDF Editor and Editor Pro from Foxit with AI Assistant are natively supported on new Snapdragon-powered PCs.
That means Foxit PDF solutions can run directly on Snapdragon-based hardware without the performance overhead of emulation, the vendor said. Foxit PDF Editor is an Adobe alternative.
“Users will benefit from intelligent automation, natural language processing, and advanced document management tools,” said Foxit in an announcement.
“Consequently, they’ll streamline workflows, increase productivity, and unlock the full potential of their PDF documents.”
Additionally, users may enjoy better battery life and maintenance. Content rendering and processing may also be faster, Foxit said.
PDF Editor can complement PC performance
According to Richard Devine, writing for Windows Central, Qualcomm’s upcoming second generation of Snapdragon X Elite processors should deliver “impressive” improvements.
“We can expect significant performance gains, but at a much lower power, scoring more efficiency wins for users,” Devine wrote.
Although this was a single vendor benchmark on Android, the single-core performance was higher than Intel and AMD’s competing chips, he added.
Battery life to performance was already good on the first generation Snapdragon X Elite. “Batteries aren’t getting any bigger, so the more life we can squeeze out of them the better,” Devine wrote.
Foxit’s PDF Editor includes generative AI via ChatGPT. The idea is to boost automated drafting, document annotation, and form filling, alongside accessibility features using PDF 2.0 standards.
TMCnet recognised Foxit with a Teleworking Solutions Excellence Award for its PDF Editor in September.
Features include annotation and editing of text, images, and objects directly within PDFs, incorporating encryption, redaction, and secure digital signatures. Digitised documentation workflows can save time and money, the vendor pointed out.
