OpenText wins SAP partner solution prize for 2023

Information management software company OpenText has been named a Partner Solution winner in the 2023 SAP Pinnacle Awards.

Mark J Barrenechea, chief executive and chief technology officer at OpenText, said the gong recognises and reinforces the vendor’s partner relationship and growth with SAP.

“OpenText is committed to enabling the world’s largest organisations to gain the information advantage by managing and securing their enterprise information across an internet of clouds,” he said in the announcement.

According to OpenText, winners and finalists in 23 categories were chosen based on recommendations from SAP, customer feedback and performance indicators. OpenText offerings have been developed as SAP solution extensions since 2008.

Christian Klein, chief executive and board member of SAP SE, said: “SAP’s ecosystem plays a key role in our vision to enable every organisation and every industry to become a network of intelligent, sustainable enterprises.”

Winning partners had demonstrated an outstanding commitment to customer value creation, exponential growth and simplification, Klein said.

According to OpenText, its offerings help manage information that drives SAP ERP, S/4HANA business processes and the like.

“Most recently, our solutions were used with the RISE with SAP offering to help customers move to the cloud faster, while reducing time, cost and risk,” it added.

The vendor has also spent 10 years on the Gartner Magic Quadrant as a leader in the application security testing market.

Devsecops tool Fortify, part of the OpenText Cybersecurity portfolio, now includes acquisition Debricked, advancing software composition analysis, supply chain security segments and API testing and discovery abilities.

Muhi Majzoub, executive VP and chief product officer at OpenText, said organisations are transforming application development and deployment.

“In the last three years, the industry had to quickly learn to solve vulnerabilities in source code and running apps, secure open-source code, APIs, containers, infrastructure as code, and more,” he said in the related announcement.

In further OpenText portfolio news, data analytics platform Vertica by OpenText has signed a deal with telecommunications support company Anritsu Service Assurance on analytical database technologies to support Anritsu 5G networking.

Critical to the success of an agile 5G network is low latency at massive scale, new edge-computing services, and digital services, all of which increase network traffic and data. Vertica analytical database capabilities embedded in the Anritsu architecture will allow for multi-petabyte scale data processing, the vendor said.

“Adopting 5G in the telecommunications industry requires robust, fast networks, which can only be achieved with increased levels of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and modern data architectures,” OpenText’s Majzoub explained.

“The result is that Anritsu customers can meet the demands associated with data-intensive workloads and fast data transaction requirements in the cloud.”
