Architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) project software vendor Bluebeam has launched a mobile and browser based suite available to subscribers worldwide.
Jon Elliott, chief executive officer at Bluebeam, said the new Bluebeam Cloud suite will help customers “unlock the power” of Bluebeam Revu.
“Teams in the field can access critical data and work from anywhere, including their mobile devices. Our clients depend on accurate, secure, and timely data so they can stay connected and keep projects on track, even when they’re on the move,” Elliott said in the press announcement.
Bluebeam Cloud is intended to help link up targeted features, workflows and reporting with connectivity, collaboration and data accessibility, he added.
Bluebeam Cloud features Markup Editor for marking up, commenting, and collaborating on project documents, and Field Tools for managing and tracking punch, RFI and submittal workflows.
“These browser and app-based mobile solutions work with existing Bluebeam markups, tool sets and documents, allowing project data to remain accessible to team members in the office and on the job site,” the company said.
According to Bluebeam, the construction industry’s relatively slow digital transformation and distributed, hybridised workplaces mean its systems can be easy targets for hackers looking to steal data or otherwise financially benefit. Solutions that are designed for these industry needs have therefore become more important.
Yves Padrines, chief executive officer of Nemetschek Group, of which Bluebeam is a subsidiary, said the way industry teams work has been changing fast. Bundling the new cloud offering with Bluebeam Revu subscriptions would help customers address those needs.
“Bluebeam Cloud represents the launch of an entirely new way of doing business based on partnerships that go beyond the sale to deliver better outcomes on every project,” Padrines claimed.
