OpenText and Google Cloud are bolstering their partnership, with OpenText’s core productivity suite broadening availability via Google Cloud.
According to the vendor, the multi-year arrangement will offer customers access to the OpenText platform via Google Cloud integrations, with the net result being a cloud-native productivity platform that promises secure, lower latency access for distributed teams.
Mark Barrenechea, chief executive at enterprise-focused OpenText, said: “Distributed work is here to stay and organisations must have the right technology, information and processes in place.”
Thomas Kurian, chief executive at Google Cloud, said that OpenText’s platform for enterprise content services has been widely adopted.
“It’s critical to enable secure, governed, and easy access to information across large organisations. Delivering and building OpenText’s core platform on Google Cloud will enable businesses to deploy its capabilities at scale,” Kurian said in the announcement.
As part of the deal, the partners will also explore new functionalities and integrations that improve productivity for distributed and hybrid teams, according to OpenText.
According to OpenText blogger ‘Stone’ Scott, large organisations are increasingly seeking cloud-native functionality that will help them transform with data-driven insights.
UK government agencies, for example, have adopted OpenText Documentum on AWS and OpenText Professional Services to help modernise their business-critical applications and services.
Scott said the cloud-based Documentum solution is enabling UK government to manage content to better meet security and compliance requirements while serving some 86,000 users.
Users can establish a “single source of truth” to share content and collaborate securely, manage and extract data and value from content across the enterprise with enterprise content services, process management, and content governance, Scott said.
