Architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) project software specialist Bluebeam has rounded up a series of Revu 20 insights, tips and tricks via its user blog.
Users from New York to Los Angeles gathered virtually in November to share insights into the Revu 20 release, according to Bluebeam’s Frank Kalman, who added that its user groups worldwide have continued to thrive in the pandemic.
“Workflows involving Studio Projects were bolstered by the August release of Revu 20,” Kalman added.
“The latest release includes new tools designed to make both Studio Projects, the document management portal in Revu, and Studio Sessions, its real-time digital collaboration portal, more streamlined for users, especially when it comes to inviting collaborators to Studio.”
In August, Bluebeam released Revu 20, which brought a number of valuable updates, particularly for Studio Projects and Sessions, and in early November, the firm announced new regional cloud-collaboration servers.
Kalman’s blog also interviewed a user, senior AECOM programme and design manager Carolyn Stegon, about how and why she uses Bluebeam.
“I love customising back check menus in the status column of the Markups List. Comments are very easy to make but the schedule can slip quickly if there is not a process for reconciliation and close out of comments,” Stegon said.
Exporting comments from Bluebeam to Microsoft Excel has always been one of the biggest lessons learned if it is done during the review cycle as I have seen comments ‘lost’ in tracking and close out.”
Stegon said that teams are encouraged to stay in the Studio session through comment closeout using all of the date stamp and tracking features. Keeping all phases of the review of Sessions also allows for tracking the process or any issues that occur, even years later if needed.
