Automox endpoint management listed in Gartner research

Endpoint management software firm Automox has been listed among the tools for solving Windows modernisation challenges experienced by partners.

Gartner has confirmed in a research paper that organisations need to improve patching across Windows and third-party applications.

“Endpoint management teams are often overwhelmed with the volume of applications to patch, the frequency of updates and the criticality of applying patches to reduce vulnerabilities,” the Gartner team wrote.

“Outdated patching processes that are labour-intensive depend on extensive testing, and monolithic rollout processes are too slow against a growing volume of cyberattacks.”

Consequently, Gartner paper listed Automox as one tool with appropriate capabilities.

Few teams had the right tools to identify and remediate performance and stability issues caused by patching.

As a result, Gartner recommends looking at unified endpoint management (UEM), third-party application patching, digital employee experience (DEX), and testing automation.

“Organisations still struggle with accelerating Windows and third-party application updates and the increase in cyberattacks,” they wrote.

“In addition, on-premises endpoint and application patching strategies have proven ineffective for hybrid or remote devices. Constant connectivity to the VPN or LAN is no longer guaranteed.”

Automox unveils agent for endpoint management

Automox is also continuing to boost its offering to customers and the channel. In January, the vendor unveiled FastAgent, an AI agent aimed at speeding up endpoint management tasks.

According to the vendor, FastAgent means IT teams can patch, configure and control all endpoints in about 15 minutes. Capabilities include persistent outgoing response queuing and customisation of agent reconnection attempts.

Consequently, the vendor is promising consistent, secure, device-centric management across Windows, macOS, and Linux systems.
