Identity security solutions could strengthen channel partner sales this year, according to a Delinea survey.
Delinea said 78% of survey respondents plan to increase their identity security spending in 2025.
“Detecting and responding to identity threats is the number one priority for organisations as identity-focused vulnerabilities and attacks like ransomware rise,” Delinea said.
The small survey of 300 IT execs underlined that organisations seek to manage and secure increasingly complex environments, including multiple human and machine identities.
Delinea is a vendor of privileged access management (PAM) as well as identity and access management (IAM) software.
Findings reveal a shift from focusing solely on authentication. A “more holistic strategy” included intelligent authorisation, entitlements, governance, PAM and other key elements, the vendor said.
Cyberattacks commonly target user credentials.
Additional findings on identity security
The vendor also found that one in every four respondents were already spending 30% of their IT budget on identity security. More than half spent 20% or more.
While multi-factor authentication (MFA) remained important, many sought further assistance.
Solutions of interest included cloud infrastructure entitlements management (CIEM), identity governance and administration (IGA), identity threat detection and response (ITDR), and PAM, the vendor added.
“Increased complexity poses major challenges,” Delinea said. “A third of respondents identified complexity in existing infrastructures as the biggest obstacle to identity management.”

User resistance, siloed identity technologies, lack of integration, and outdated legacy systems also hindered organisations, it added.
Organisations wanted to detect and respond to threats to credentials and confidentiality. In addition, they sought to improve how they manage cloud identities and entitlements.
“Over 94% of respondents are planning to adopt AI-driven identity technologies,” the vendor added. “Fifty-five percent already have AI or are in the process of adoption.”
Delinea said AI could automate identity governance and speed up threat detection. The report can be downloaded here.
