TeamViewer, maker of Tensor enterprise software, has built out remote connectivity and support, integrations and add-ons.
Firstly, according to the vendor, remote access and control features are now available on Google Meet with an integration.
“You can now use TeamViewer to provide support to desktops and mobile devices during a Google Meet video call,” it said via its website.
Consequently, workers already on Google Meet can collaborate faster and easier. Enterprise-grade security comes as standard, TeamViewer said.
In addition, TeamViewer has added managed detection and response (MDR).
“Cyber threats don’t always happen during business hours. If you’re a small team, one smart option is to outsource your security set-up for remote threat mitigation,” the vendor said.
Improvements for remote work
The benefits included “peace of mind” via an expert support team available for around-the-clock remote threat mitigation, it said.
Organisations could save money by avoiding hiring additional personnel, freeing existing IT staff to focus on other challenges. This would also make it easier to keep up with compliance requirements, TeamViewer added.
The vendor has noted that consultancy Ernst and Young reported a 75% increase in cyberattacks over the past five years. At the same time, the Allianz risk barometer found that “cyber incidents” were a top concern for businesses.
TeamViewer also augmented its Frontline Assist software with WIScope borescope integration for factory technicians. This meant they could then share their feed with external parties if they require support.
“[This] skips the guesswork and speeds up diagnosis with clear communication,” said TeamViewer.
“Gets your customers back behind the wheel faster, increases vehicle on the road (VOR) time, and the ‘fix it right the first time (FRFT)’ quota.”
How remote connectivity helps organisations
Additionally, a TeamViewer survey in September highlighted the relevance of seamless connectivity for businesses.
“Thirty-nine percent of UK businesses with excellent technology connectivity say their financial performance is among the leaders in their industry,” the vendor said.
“In addition, 62% say that excellent tech connectivity gives them a competitive edge.”
TeamViewer defined “excellent” connectivity as “mostly seamless”, with a few individual functions, geographies, or operational activities siloed.
Another finding was that “global businesses with excellent connectivity” said their operational performance was on par with industry leaders. Only 19% with merely “good” connectivity said the same.
“Seamless connectivity, the extent to which staff can operate and connect without interruptions, and what all businesses should be aiming for, also increases resilience and supports risk management,” said TeamViewer.
TeamViewer hired FT Longitude between March and April 2024 to survey 500 business leaders across Australia, Canada, Japan, Germany, UK and the USA.
Business leaders represented enterprises from automotive, industrial manufacturing, IT, logistics, transport and distribution, financial services, retail, public sector, and utilities, the vendor said.
