Omniplex, vendor of e-learning software including Vyond video creation tools, has acquired cybersecurity training specialist Matobo.
According to Patrick Jocelyn, chief executive at Omniplex Learning, e-learning software customers have identified cybersecurity as a critical and evolving challenge.
“The costs of cyber breach to a business are substantial, both financially and reputationally. By integrating Matobo’s industry leading courses into our portfolio, we are poised to provide our with customers digital learning in areas of utmost importance to them,” Jocelyn said.
As a result of the buy, the company plans to expand its offerings. The aim is to address new security and privacy challenges associated with AI and “other threats”.
Consequently Jocelyn said this will complement its Good e-Learning digital transformation courses acquired a year ago.
Matobo will enhance Omniplex Learning’s portfolio of e-learning software products and services. Their portfolio includes Articulate, Docebo, Vyond and Omniplex Guide, according to the Matobo announcement.
The announcement said that Matobo offers National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) certified e-learning for cybersecurity and the general data protection regulation (GDPR). It has provided e-learning to around 20% of UK local authorities.
How Vyond is helping customers
Omniplex’s online video animation software for non-specialists, Vyond, has been added to a G-Cloud pool for UK government use in creating ISO/IEC 27001 and Cyber Essentials certified learning and development video content in the public sector.
Global customers include US retailer Whole Foods, which uses Vyond’s AI-enabled video platform to design training sessions and edit video content, according to an HR Brew article.
