OPSWAT has launched MetaDefender for Secure Storage, coming to the rescue of organisations increasingly communicating with remotely distributed teams.
“Cloud storage solutions facilitate access, sharing and collaboration. However, they leave the IT and security departments in a blind spot when it comes to malware and compliance violations for personal and corporate data.
“MetaDefender for Secure Storage helps you prevent data breaches and compliance violations. It keeps the data in your cloud and onsite storage safe and secure,” said Yiyi Miao, senior product VP at OPSWAT.
MetaDefender for Secure Storage uses OPSWAT’s best-of-breed Deep CDR technology for zero-day malware prevention and offers native integration with many cloud based storage and collaboration services like OneDrive, Box, and Amazon S3.
Including OPSWAT Proactive Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technology, MetaDefender for Secure Storage blocks transmission of sensitive data in files and emails – for example, credit-card numbers.
This can help organisations comply with industry regulations, such as PCI, HIPAA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley and FINRA, whether they use cloud or on-premise storage infrastructures.
It can block sensitive data either entering or leaving an organisation, incorporating multiscanning, deep content disarm and reconstruction, and file-based vulnerability assessments.
Proactive DLP can search some 30 file types before uploading or downloading, including Microsoft Office files, PDF, CSV, HTML and image files such as .JPG or .TIF.
It can also check emails and files being transferred through web proxies, secure gateways, web application firewalls, and storage systems. Alerts can be customised for emails including certain content, such as characteristic expressions.
